A new global climate deal

In December 2009 the world will have the opportunity to forge a new deal at that will address the multiple threats of climate change. WWF is working closely with governments around the world to help lay the groundwork for a deal that will ensure a healthy future for people and the environment. Read more

Business and climate

WWF forms progressive partnerships with businesses and industries to identify ways they can reduce their emissions, and influence their sectors and markets to become super-energy efficient and carbon-neutral. Read more
The approved motion will complement regional and national efforts to protect the Amazon against climate change.

Forests & climate

Forests have a critical role to play in the fight against global warming. They are the the largest storehouse of carbon on Earth, but when they are destroyed or degraded forests can become a major emitter of greenhouse gases such as CO2. WWF is working on solutions to reduce CO2 emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. Read more

Smarter energy use

To keep global average temperature rise less than 2°C above pre-industrial levels, we need to develop a new energy system, based on clean energy sources, clean and safe modes of energy transport, and super efficiency. WWF is working on a vision for how the world’s energy system should develop in the future to minimise its impact on nature and natural resources, as well as on the climate. Read more
