A collection of articles, ideas and links for lesson planning?

To be perfectly honest with you, Teachers are quite possibly our No. 1 customer.

It is through you - what you teach, how you teach - that we can quite possibly have the biggest impact on our combined efforts to conserve the majesty of our one and only planet.

So we have tried to collect some facts and curios that may help you in giving, planning or carrying out lessons.

It's by no means what it should be or could be (and we would love to hear of things you think we can do to improve), but we hope, in some way or other, the following may help...

What's in this section?

  • Project Ideas
A series of ideas that briefly explain an environmental subject and then try to give suggestions and links to turn the subject into a learning experience.
  • Topics for Discussion
A wide range of environmental issues are briefly examined. The aim is to provide an overview and links that can hopefully provide the basis for some lively class discussions.
  • Olympic Animals
We took a not-so-serious look at which animals would win medals in the real world: the species that compete daily in the wild to thrive and survive.
  • Really Wild Awards
We took an even more not-so-serious look at some of the strange traits found in the animal kingdom.
  • Remarkable Animals
A section that has proved remarkably popular over the years, looking at some of the stranger creatures on our planet.
  • Man's Greatest Mistakes
Although it may be partly tongue-in-cheek, this does have a serious side, looking as it does at our all too human ability to "shoot ourselves in the foot".
  • Top 10 Scary Destinations
We created this for Halloween one time... and by popular demand we've kept it on the site.
  • Harry Potter Top 10
Yes... we jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon. But is fact stranger than fiction? Are their Potteresque type creatures in our own muggle world?
  • All Time Top 10
Over the years we have been collecting votes on what creatures and places people think we must all see in our one, short lifetime. This "Alll time Top 10" collates all that into one be-all and end-all list...

And if that's no good, how about this...

If you would like to get a copy of this to show in class, just get in touch.

Oh - and if you get an error trying to view this, try looking at here:

...for some reason, sometimes it just doesn't play on our site.
