WWF and Nokia Siemens Networks will work closely together to further strengthen environmental awareness among the company's employees and other key stakeholders. The spirit of the agreement is to learn from one another, and to facilitate active dialogue and activities that benefit the environment. Additionally, WWF will provide an outside view and guidance on the company’s environmental activities. The agreement was signed in January 2008, for an initial term of three years.
Why We Have Partnered
By developing the understanding of Nokia Siemens Networks employees on environmental issues, and how they can make a difference, it is expected that the partnership will increase the motivation and knowledge of employees, helping to generate innovative and sustainable business solutions.
At the same time, through this partnership WWF and Nokia Siemens Networks are working to minimize the environmental impact of Nokia Siemens Networks’ business activities. Both organizations aim to jointly increase understanding of the positive impact that telecommunications can have for the environment.
How We Are Working Together
Concrete examples of the agreement are training workshops, global web campaigns and other environment-related information sharing for Nokia Siemens Networks employees, as well as communication and seminars targeted at other Nokia Siemens Networks stakeholders.
