Festool

Festool Tool Container

The German electric and pneumatic tool manufacturer Festool is campaigning for sustained environmental resource management.

Since October 2006 the company has supported the work of WWF with the sale of special campaign products.

In addition to the high-quality product the customer receives information about the WWF and a small Panda key-ring. After a successful start in Switzerland and Great Britain in October 2006 the cooperation has now been enlarged in July 07 to include a further 20 countries.

Responsibility for the environment

Festool only produces tools for the toughest demands and the company therefore focuses on consistent quality.

Festool products are characterised by their durability, robustness and positive ecological properties such a recyclability and environmental compatibility.

Environmental responsibility is a fundamental element of Festool's company philosophy.

Production at the site in Germany are extremely efficient and have satisfied the highest quality requirements for many years, while at the same time taking into consideration their impact on the environment.

Festool is aware that natural resources should always be used as efficiently as possible in production.

As a family company with over 80 years of tradition behind it, Festool are rising to these challenges. The company's ambitions are not short-term, but are based around sustainable development. Festool pursues this approach across the board, from machines and customer service to company decisions.

Festool always aims to use recyclable materials and limit waste to lessen environmental impacts.

The patented JetStream principle, for example, extends the useful life of Festool's abrasives by up to 30%.

And that means up to 30% less waste.

Users can then return their old tools and used batteries to Festool, who will send them on to a recycling centre.

Furthermore, Festool have been delivering machines in patented, recyclable Systainers instead of disposable packaging for almost 15 years. This not only increases their durability, but also creates less waste.

It is these sorts of principals and sustainable policies that have led to a co-operation between WWF and Festool.
