WWF's Agriculture and Biodiversity Initiative - Our Approach

Fresh outlook - conserving ecoregions

As a part of its new way of looking at the world, WWF is working to conserve ecoregions - large areas of land or water with distinct climates, ecological features, and plant and animal communities.

This new approach helps WWF consider whole landscapes, and the people and land uses within them, at scales that are more appropriate than individual sites or traditional political boundaries.

WWF's Center for Conservation Innovation is working to support ecoregion conservation with a bold new initiative that will take advantage of the opportunities that agriculture can provide for conserving biodiversity.

The Agriculture and Biodiversity Initiative complements other conservation efforts within ecoregions with a focus on the threats and opportunities that farming provides.
