There are a number of ways you can help the environmental work that goes on in and around the Ivory Coast.

Working/volunteering
WWF tends to recruit local people for its work in the Ivory Coast. Any candidate would have to have a good knowledge of French, be sensitive to local customs and have the avility to suceed in an often difficult working environment. The situation on volunteering changes over time - to register your name should any future opportunities araise, please write directly to the West Africa office.

Supporting important issues
From time to time WWF will need help in campaigning for local issues, often on a global scale. To register to support any actions that come up in the future and help support local issues in a variety of ways, please register yourself with P@ssport, or with any of the other global environemntal campaigning tools that you can now find on the web (such as with Greenpeace or Friends of the Earth).

Supporting local people/tourism
Local people are what really matter here. Good tourist operators can help local people realise the financial value of their natural environment.

Letters of support
You can write directly to the local WWF office in order to express and/or offer your support.

Through your own day-today actions
Our own connsumer actions in our everyday life have a huge impact ion the distant places. If we begin to buy our everday household products and consumer items with more care and thought, together we can have the greatest single positive impact on the state of the environment in the Ivory Coast. To get you started, look for FSC and MSC endorsed products in your shops. Buy trade- and eco-friendly products whenever you can.
