Country, people and wildlife

Malawi: one of the poorest and most densely populated countries in southeastern Africa. In this land faced with serious challenges, WWF is developing solutions favouring both the people and the environment.

Two places in the region are of special interest in terms of wildlife. One is Liwonde National Park, the prime protected area for African big game in the country.

The other is Lake Malawi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated at the southernmost end of Lake Malawi - with a unique, record-breaking diversity of fish species.
