Marine protected areas in Southern Thailand to benefit from international cooperation
“The Strengthening Andaman Marine Protected Areas Network” (SAMPAN) Project is a three-year project led by the Royal Thai Government, with support from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the Fonds Français pour l'Environnement Mondial (FFEM or French Global Environment Facility) and WWF Thailand. Preliminary population abundance estimate for the Mekong dolphin in 2007
Our research found that as at the end of May 2007 the preliminary population abundance estimate for the Mekong dolphin was between 66 and 86 dolphins, with a best estimate of 71 dolphins. Further population surveys and careful monitoring of mortalities will be conducted to increase our confidence in the number of dolphins remaining in the Mekong in Cambodia and southern Laos.

Bangkokians turn lights off for brighter future against global warming
On 29 March, WWF Thailand and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) join more than 400 cities and towns across the globe in WWF’s Earth Hour Climate Change Campaign in which participants in Earth Hour show their committment to conservation. From 8 pm to 9 pm, they pledged to turn off lights and non-necessary electrical appliances to save energy and reduce carbon emissions. » Read more
