WWF in action in Bali Barat, Indonesia

Putu, a guide in Bali Barat National Park, scans the horizon for illegal fishers during a routine boat patrol facilitated by WWF.

On the ground

Enter The Lab. No walls, no test tubes, no white-robed staff in sight. Not even a whiff of a chemical.

Above us, clear blue skies, that deep blue colour you would gladly paint your house with. Ahead of us, the beach, and beyond that under the sea, a recovering - yet remarkable - coral landscape.

The Lab is Bali Barat (or West Bali) National Park in Indonesia, a nickname for WWF's Asia-Pacific-wide Friends of the Reef project pilot site. Here, WWF is deploying a range of solutions with the local community at the core, in an effort to tackle the impacts of climate change on coral reef.
