"We have to be conservationists by work, not only by words."
Shubash Lohani has participated in designing the strategic plan for the TAL project, and now he is involved in preparing the financial model. In addition, he is involved in planning, implementing and monitoring the project in the field.
"I have loved nature from childhood, and that's why I chose to study natural resources management", he says."While studying, I did research in Royal Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve on what problems there are and how they can be solved. I found that interesting, and I chose to work with conservation."
Working for conservation brings a lot of responsibility. "We have to be conservationists by work, not only by words. We have to show it in our behaviour, in our attitudes, in everything", Shubash notes.
At the same time, seeing your work bear results brings a lot of satisfaction. "We have lots of success stories in the TAL project - we can really see how positive changes are taking place", he says.
"There are also different levels of satisfaction in the work", he says. "When conserving globally endangered species, we are also working for the whole world."
