Acting as a focal point for any security issues
In a country undergoing a political crisis with armed conflicts, it is essential for an organization to keep an eye on what is safe to do. This is a part of the job of Sunil Dahal, Project Support Officer.
"My major responsibility includes acting as a focal point for any security issues. I provide updates of the contingency plan for the security of staff working in the project. In addition, I provide support to our Terai Program in accounting, administrative, logistical and procurement issues", he says.
Born in Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal, Sunil first found his career in business, after having completed his studies in business administration.
"Before WWF, I worked with a biogas company in Kathmandu", he says. "I joined the WWF Nepal office in 1998 as Finance and Administration Assistant for Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project. From the year 2000 on, I worked in the Bardia Integrated Conservation Project."
The next task for him was in the TAL project, where he first worked as Finance and Administration Officer. After a long experience of working in the field, he is now carrying out his present tasks behind his desk in the capital Kathmandu, in the main office of WWF Nepal.
