From eagles to turtles

In the very heart of Earth's marine biodiversity epicentre, WWF-Philippines is reaching out to fishers, turtles, dugongs and a number of other highly endangered species. Care to join?

WWF's - or Kabang Kalikasan ng Pilipinas (KKP) -involvement in the Philippines dates back to 1969, when the organisation funded efforts to protect the Philippine eagle.

In 1991, the WWF Philippine Program was established in Manila to supervise numerous field activities and to work more closely with local partners. 5 years later, KKP was transformed into WWF-Philippines and became the 26th national organization of the WWF network.

Among others, WWF-Philippines supports:
  • local efforts in coastal resources management
  • community-based ecotourism
  • management of protected areas, and
  • environmental law enforcement.
WWF's projects on species protection serve as catalytic platforms for a broader coastal management and conservation program in a number of areas.
