Track polar bears on Google Earth
It is now possible to find the bears on Google Earth!
Find the bears now

On this page you can download a KMZ file, which can be opened in Google Earth and show you the different paths taken by the polar bears that we are following on the Polar Bear Tracker.
Download the Google Earth files and start following the bears:
- Svalbard, Norway [KMZ file] updates automatically
- Southern Beaufort Sea, Alaska [KMZ file] updated manually every Monday
To see where the polar bears were on a particular date or animate their movements over the past few months, you can play with the options on the timeline toolbar in Google Earth v4.
If you need help with the timeline toolbar, use the tutorial from the NSIDC.

Happy tracking!
