WWF's work to conserve the Baltic Sea environment

There are many activities you can join in around the region to restore the Baltic Sea to full health. In doing so, you will be part of a growing movement of people, working together with WWF, calling for measures to save the Baltic Sea.

WWF is urging governments to change their own policies and to push for their Ministers and Members of the European Parliament to take the arguments to Brussels to show that local people want changes made to stop the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) subsidising eutrophication, and to enforce environmental measures.

Solutions

WWF has drawn up a list of actions that we believe governments should take. We have also collected examples of good farming practices to show that solutions are not only possible, but that they can provide a win-win for farmers, communities and the environment.

As well as joining with others, there are actions you can take this summer to raise awareness of the problem and the solutions – and to make a positive impact to help the Baltic Sea.
