Mediterranean freshwater NGO network
Network for capacity building on freshwater issues
WWF encourages the participation of civil society, through NGOs, in improving freshwater and wetlands conservation, and in promoting their sustainable use and management. A constraint in achieving this is the lack in NGOs’ technical and human capacity to make the most of this participation. Our newly established network is an opportunity for Mediterranean NGOs to build this capacity. Building a civil society capable of contributing to wetland conservation
To build such a society a regular flow of information through networking mechanisms will be maintained. Network members will have access to knowledge and expertise. Capacity to undertake policy and advocacy work will be built as well as for institutions to develop, fundraise, communicate and implement conservation projects.
The range of Across The Waters’ experience and tools will be available for this network.
