The volunteer fire-fighters at AFDC work in dangerous conditions to protect their country's forests. But they're lacking some items that they can't afford - and which would make a huge difference to their effectiveness as well as their personal safety. They would be very happy if their work could be helped through any of the following:
- fire beaters (around 100 needed)
- fire-proof glasses (around 50 needed)
- boots (around 25 needed)
- uniforms (around 25 needed)
- water sprayers
- walkie talkies
- a small 4x4 truck with a 1m3 water tank
If you can help, contact AFDC at afdc@afdc.org.lb
Funding
In December 2003, the three-year EU SMAP grant that WWF's Mediterranean Programme secured for AFDC's work finished. WWF would like to continue to support AFDC - if you would like to donate so that WWF can support this and other projects, you can do so safely and securely using a credit card on this site.
Alternatively, you can donate to AFDC - contact afdc@afdc.org.lb
Volunteers
AFDC is always looking for volunteers to help them with their work. All volunteers should be able to speak Lebanese. If you can help, contact afdc@afdc.org.lb
