This area, that includes Trebisnjica river basin which is linked by porous karst terrain with Neretva river, has an area of 10,100 km² or 81.4% of the total Adriatic Sea catchment area of BiH. Neretva river basin, including the part of Trebisnjica, spreads over 4,412 km² of area in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and 1,362 km² in the Western Herzegovina Canton.
