How You Can Help
Equipment
The WWF team working at Lake Pape is lacking some equipment that would assist them in their work. Needed items include:
- 10 binoculars
- Telescopes for bird-watching that would be rented by the B&B and nature houses at Lake Pape
- European birds guides (for similar purposes as the telescopes)
- A chainsaw to clear the trails
- One more ATV for the rangers
- 1 boat with engine for the rangers
- 2 waterproof jackets for the rangers
- 2 full equipment for future rangers, including night vision binoculars
- A trailer for 3-4 horses
- Bikes for the B&B (for rental)
- 5 computers needed for nature houses and information centres so that they can have access to Internet
Volunteers are welcome, provided they inform the team well in advance of their interest and participation in the project. Activities for volunteers include fencing, posting signals, cleaning bush and weeds, helping on model forestry farms, and participating in surveys. The summer season is the best time to do volunteer work at Lake Pape.
