Raising awareness about the sustainable use of natural resources

WWF-Latvia is organizing public hearings, seminars, and courses for local residents, to inform and train them about the benefits from sustainable use of natural resources. In general, WWF has been actively involving local municipalities and inhabitants in the project development.

These municipalities have very limited financial and human resources. WWF is helping to develop the tourism information centre in Rucava, and uses only labour and materials from local inhabitants.

Other activities include informative trips with media and representatives of the local municipalities, and a special seminar on s ustainable forestry and use of natural resources for local landowners.
