Successful International Sculptors' Workshop in Bolivia
Between October 21st and 28th, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, eight sculptors worked live at the Manzana 1 square, within the “I International Sculptors Workshop”. The participants were 4 international sculptors (Aldo Shiroma and Karen Macher from Peru, Chalo Tulian from Argentina and Gustavo Beckelmann from Paraguay) and 4 Bolivian sculptors (Juan Bustillos, León Saavedra, Claribel Catoira and Carolina Sanjinés), who used parts of the Cariniana estrellensis tree harvested for the Un Árbol Bolivia Project. The sculptures will be donated in the following months to embellish the foreseen forest certification walkway in Santa Cruz de la Sierra city, a joint effort of Santa Cruz de la Sierra Municipality and WWF, the global conservation organization, within the recognition of the Municipality as “World capital of native tropical forests certification” last April. » Read more
