First Forum and International Fair for Water and Environment: ExpoAgua 2008
On April 3rd and 4th, the First Forum and International Fair for Water and Environment was held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra denominated “ExpoAgua 2008”. Bolivian River Dolphin: Conservation Ambassador for the Department of Beni in Bolivia

The Bolivian river dolphin (Inia boliviensis) was declared by the Prefecture of the Department of Beni (northeastern Bolivia) as a Natural Heritage. Santa Cruz, Bolivia - On March 28th, WWF Bolivia, the conservation organization, was awarded a special recognition on behalf of the Bolivian Forestry Chamber for its contribution to the forest sector. The award was received by WWF Bolivia’s Country Representative, Mr. Roger Landivar, during the swearing in ceremony of the Forestry Chamber's Board of Directors during the fourth Wood Industry Business Roundtable, of which WWF and its GFTN (Global Forest and Trade Network) also took part, with the participation of over 30 international GFTN member businessmen. » Read more

Earth Hour in Bolivia: Santa Cruz turned off the lights of its main square for an hour this Saturday
The lights were turned off as a symbolic support of the global Earth Hour 2008 campaign, in order to promote energy saving to fight climate change.

Santa Cruz, Bolivia: First Latin American city to be a part of Earth Hour
WWF, the global conservation organization, invites the general population, communities, companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations in the country to join the Earth Hour awareness campaign. The campaign proposes that on March 29th, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., lights or any other item that consumes energy be switched off in the most important cities worldwide. » Read more
