How Can You Help?

On the ground
With so many different activities being carried out in the field by the two WWF teams in Brazil and Bolivia, qualified helping hands are often welcome. Some have already joined, either for short spurs of voluntary activity, or for longer internships.
Unfortunately, WWF is not in a position to provide funded work but should you be able to find your own sources or be willing to help for free, please contact either of the offices in Corumba or Puerto Suarez. (contact details given below)Minivans and refrigerators
As well as capable individuals, the two teams can always do with more funds. In Bolivia, for example, the "Grupo Pantanal Otuquis" would greatly benefit from a minivan. WWF staff, the parents and the teachers often have to do several journeys to get all the children together - a bus would cut costs and save time. Money could also be directed towards the purchase of refrigerators to help the newly established fishermen's cooperation make the most of their catch.
Get in touch with either the WWF Brazil or WWF Bolivia Project if you think you could help with these items. The contact details for these offices are as follows:

Don't buy questionable souvenirs
Always be careful that you don't buy souvenirs/products that could threaten wild plants or animals with extinction. As you must be aware, rampant pet trade has led to the risk of extinction of the beautiful Hyacinth Macaw and the splendid Jaguars are increasingly finding it tough to save their 'skins'. Some wildlife products require permits to transport internationally or may be illegal to purchase and transport at all.
