Group outputs

This task group will ideally compile a known picture of the genetic stocks of marine turtles in the Caribbean. The task group is headed by Alberto Abreu who has leading expertise in this field. The rationale behind this group is that conservation efforts for marine turtles under future climate change scenarios should be designed to take into consideration the genetic diversity of populations that are placed under conservation management.

With that in mind, basin wide genetic information will be collected to highlight nesting and foraging aggregations that have the greatest and the least genetic diversity respectively, as well as forming a picture of how these stocks may move around the Caribbean basin.
