More on Climate Change

The Nike+ Human Race

The Human Race

What are you running for?

On August 31, you can fight climate change by running for WWF.

From Lima to Los Angeles, Madrid to Melbourne, Nike is asking, "What are you running for?"

And people around the world are voting for climate change with their feet!

You can raise vital funds to support our work on climate change when you join a local race choosing WWF as your nominated charity. Every kilometre you run in the race will be a vote for climate change! You can make your vote count even more by tracking your training kilometers at www.nikeplus.com.

Climate change is the biggest threat facing nature and humanity today.

Already, the impacts of climate change are being felt in many places around the globe - be it melting glaciers, rising sea levels, stronger storms, higher floods, less snow in the north and more drought in the south.

Tell the world that climate change - and working together to solve it - is important to you!

There are solutions, and you can help WWF act now!

WWF's experience, global reach and partnership approach works because we  base our solutions in science and work  to make the biggest impact with our partners.

You can support WWF’s work on climate change when you join a local race or make your vote count by using a Nike+ SportsBand or Nike+ iPod to track your miles during training and on race day.

What is the Nike+ Human Race?
The race was born with the goal to celebrate runners and their sport, while uniting athletes world-wide through the world’s largest running event ever organized. It will be held on August 31, 2008 anywhere a registered runner chooses to hit the pavement. Nike has organized 25 physical race cities, but the Nike+ Human Race is truly open to everyone, everywhere.

How do I participate?
Visit www.nikeplus.com to access the Nike+ Human Race Web site and registration form where you can get more details and sign up online or download a PDF version for mail in registration. You may register to run in one of the 25 physical race cities (see list below).

If you don’t live in a race city, just sign up at www.nikeplus.com to participate. Simply use Nike + iPod or Nike+ SportBand to track your miles on race day and then have your results officially counted as part of the race.

Is there a deadline to participate?
The event will be held on August 31, 2008. Countries may cap registration based on race course capacity for the physical race, but there is no registration deadline.
