Habitat description
Temperate deciduous forests are characterised by the presence of deciduous trees, which shed their leaves each year. This is a highly fertile habitat and subsequently human population is high here.

This habitat has both hot and cold seasons because of the influence of the cold polar region to its north and the warm tropical region to the south. Rainfall occurs more or less throughout the year, and is between 30 and 60 inches.

Distribution
As the name implies, temperate deciduous forests are found in the temperate zone, that is, between the tropics and the poles. Large areas of this habitat have been converted to agricultural zones.
