Bear Hunting
The Cunning Hunter

The Cunning Hunter Polar bears hunt alone, and the need to survive the harsh environment has made them wily. In the winter, they find seals' holes in the ice and wait (sometimes several hours!) for them to come up for air. An aggressive and powerful hunter, a Polar bear can kill a seal with a blow of its paw!
What do Polar Bears eat?In spite of their bulk, Polar bears are quite agile and can capture swift animals like the Arctic fox, lemmings and even birds. Their diet includes dead animals (carrion) and in summer, some plant material. Sometimes they attack and kill small whales and walruses, and scoop salmon from rivers. But their favourite food is seals.
At times, they will eat anything - eggs, seaweed, garbage, and even dead Polar bears! When Polar bears find easy food, such as a dead whale or a rubbish dump outside a settlement, they can gather in a large group for the feast.
