The Adaptation to Climate Change Toolkit: Coasts is a series of tools and resources aimed at anyone with an interest in climate change adaptation for marine turtle habitats, including coastal managers, conservation practitioners, scientists and educators.
The Toolkit contents fall into four main categories:
i) The Toolkit in brief
ii) The problem: impacts and vulnerability
iii) The solutions: adaptation measures and manuals
iv) Additional resources
Links to pdf versions of each of the documents can be found below.

Climate change has the potential to affect sea turtles and their habitats in numerous ways. This section includes a review of marine turtles and climate change by Hawkes et al (2009) and a report examining climate projections for the Wider Caribbean and what these changes mean for regional sea turtle populations. Click here to go to our interactive map and find out climate projections for your location. Also included here is a study of sea-level rise at Playa Grande, Costa Rica and the implications for management of this area.
Flooding due to sea level rise in Playa Grande, Parque Marino Las Baulas
There are many opportunities for us to act to reduce the vulnerability of sea turtles and coastal habitats to a changing climate. The 'Adaptation to climate change: options for marine turtles' report describes the results of our research into what action can be taken now to help hawksbill turtles cope with climate change. Also included in this section is a 'Temperature Monitoring Manual' aimed at programs wishing to incorporate temperature monitoring into their work.
