WWF: NGO of the Year

WWF has won the prize of NGO of the Year at a ceremony for the European Public Affairs Directory Award 2008, in Brussels. The recognition came for the constant and effective efforts to promote a sustainable economy and a living planet in which humans can live in harmony with nature. A major challenge facing decision-makers today is to shape policies whereby the human footprint stays within the Earth’s capacity to sustain life and to ensure that the planet’s natural resources are equitably shared.
In Brussels since 1989, WWF’s European Policy Office has been promoting new ways to measure progress and welfare within the European Union. WWF works with public institutions, businesses and other key stakeholders to promote sustainable production and consumption patterns across the EU.
