All of WWF's projects in the Greater Mekong seek to protect biodiversity either directly or indirectly.

The major threat to species survival in the region is the illegal wildlife trade. However habitat loss and fragmentation as a result of large scale infrastructure development also poses a serious risks to many species in the Greater Mekong.

TRAFFIC, a joint organization of WWF and the IUCN (World Conservation Union) has an office in Vietnam which monitors the illegal wildlife trade in the Greater Mekong.

WWF and TRAFFIC launch celebrity PSA campaign for wildlife conservation

The Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign is aimed at changing consumer attitudes about unsustainable wildlife consumption was officially launched in Hanoi.

The campaign, consisting of five TV PSAs and five print PSAs, is a part of a larger awareness-raising project between WWF Greater Mekong and TRAFFIC - a joint programme of IUCN and WWF for monitoring wildlife trade - addressing unsustainable wildlife consumption in Vietnam.
