The first activities of the Campo-Ma'an project started on the ground in April 2003.
The project's objectives are:
- Provide technical assistance to local authorities, especially the forest and wildlife service, to manage and protect the Campo-Ma'an National Park, and strengthen their capacity to patrol the park and fight against poaching;
- Implement scientific research and ecological monitoring programme in the national park;
- Develop collaboration and build partnerships with all key stakeholders in the region; and
- Promote initiatives that boost local development, and community-based management of the area's natural resources
