Main tasks:
The Monitoring, evaluation and fundraising Support Officer will:
- lead the effective internalization of the WWF Project and Programme Management Standards (PPMS) in WWF South Pacific Conservation Programme
- drive conservation impact outcomes in projects and programmes.
The PPMS is a series of tools and methodologies developed and adopted by the WWF network that aims to improve the management of projects and programmes that will eventually lead to greater conservation impact. The PPMS system is also in support of the network’s commitment to better measure its conservation impacts and getting value for its investments in the most priority of places under the Global Programme Framework (GPF), WWF’s global conservation programme framework.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Administration (preferably the latter), or any business or marketing-related field.
- At least three to five years professional experience in an NGO or a civil society organization preferably within the Pacific Islands region, with a background in inshore fisheries development and management and/or policy advocacy.
South Pacific Programme office:
The WWF-South Pacific Programme Office (located in Suva-Fiji Islands) leads the implementation of WWF’s priority marine programme activities for South West Pacific as well as a coordination hub for relevant Pacific wide regional issues.
Field programmes are implemented in Fiji and Cook Islands and in other Pacific Island countries through partnerships with local organisations, along with regional policy work and engagement with key regional level organizations, donors and stakeholders in the Pacific.
Priority conservation issues for WWF SPPO are:
- Coastal Management / Fisheries and Marine Managed Areas (MMAs)
- Marine Species Conservation
- Climate Change
- Offshore Fisheries.
Fundraising with Governments and Aid Agencies (GAAs), and increasingly with the corporate sector are important activities for the Conservation Programme. WWFSPPO aims to ensure that the desired messages and ensuing policy and behavioral changes are communicated and supported towards wider sustainable management of Pacific Islands Region resources.
