We're looking for a Communications Assistant, Government & Aid Agency Relations to provide support in producing communication materials and organizing events and travel for the department.
Contract and location:
This is a fixed-term position (7 months, with possible extension) based in Gland (near Geneva), Switzerland.
What you'd do:
Major Functions:
- Provide technical support in producing GAA-related communication materials,
- Organize training and outreach events, and provide support to the unit in organizing events and travel,
- Support the development and implementation of a communication plan based on the GAA
Communications Strategy, including producing specific communication, training materials and tools in close collaboration with members of the GAA Unit and the GAA Network.
What you need
Required Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in communications or marketing
- Degree or equivalent work experience in communication and graphic design with complementary
- Knowledge of conservation, development studies or social sciences a plus
- Experience working with international conservation or sustainable development programmes
- Understanding of and exposure to international development issues and programmes are an asset.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Good knowledge of web-based technology, multi-media software
- Good organizational, writing and communication skills
- Excellent diplomatic and networking skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of individuals within a wide range of cultural environments
- Fluency in English, with fluency in other languages a distinct advantage
- Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including a positive ‘can do’ attitude
