This is carried out in coordination with the Institute for Research and Development (IRD), the FaunAgua Association, the National Working Group for Participation (GNTP) and the Reciprocity Foundation. With funds from WWF UK / DfID and WWF US / Blue Moon Fund, these efforts aim to provide input for stakeholders to be able to influence decision makers, minimize negative impacts and promote the development of sustainable energy infrastructure in the Bolivian Amazon.
Through the dissemination of the results obtained from research regarding the potential impacts on hydrology, fishing and health of the local population, it is hoped that stakeholders can jointly explore the pros and cons, while at the same time support an informed decision making process that is democratic and participatory, through transparent and productive discussions, in aims of making diverse interests compatible and endorsing a sustainable development of the environment.
