Summary
The Sahelian upwelling marine ecoregion, part of the larger Canary Current ecoregion, covers a coastline of more than 2,150km ranging from rocky cliffs and sandy beaches in the North to mangroves in the South.
WWF aims to develop a long term strategy to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and socio-economic development in the Sahelian upwelling marine ecoregion, which will be coordinated by the West African Marine Ecoregion (WAMER) office in Dakar, Senegal.
