Earth Hour 2009 in Singapore, working together with corporates, government and local community

Awareness and Outreach

WWF set up its Singapore office in 2006 to make a positive and lasting impact on a variety of environmental issues by forging partnerships with companies, investors, the government, other NGOs and the local community.

WWF Singapore is spearheading sustainable development outreach programmes with corporate partners and industry to educate and engage staff, customers and stakeholders, as well as the Singapore public, on environmental and conservation programmes in Asia.

Through public awareness and outreach activities, WWF Singapore aims to:

  • Highlight the importance of nature conservation
  • Provide the opportunity for the general public to learn more about WWF
  • Raise awareness amongst people in Singapore on environmental issues and empower them to take action
  • Raise funds for WWF Singapore
One of WWF Singapore’s upcoming activities is the Singapore Seafood Guide. If you like to eat seafood but are concerned about the impact this may have on fish stocks, marine wildlife and habitats, then the handy wallet size Singapore Seafood Guide will help you choose fish which come from healthy stocks, are sustainably managed, and caught using methods that minimise damage to the marine wildlife and environment.
