Environmental problems in Sweden

Persistant bad forestry practices

In Sweden, 2000 forest-dwelling species have been listed as threatened. They range from birds such as the white-backed woodpecker to various species of lichen, moss and fungi. While the country has made major progress to improve responsible timber harvesting, bad practices still exist.
What is WWF doing about the problems?
Also, a significant part of the wood used for pulp production in Sweden is imported from Eastern Europe. In the Baltics and Russia, huge problems exist with illegal and irresponsible harvesting.
