Heroes of the UAE School Elimination Round in Dubai

34 students from 17 private schools in Dubai compete in the Elimination Round of the Climate Change Quiz being held as part of the Heroes of the UAE Schools programme organized by EWS-WWF, Ministry of Education, and Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi under the sponsorship of HSBC Bank Middle East Ltd. HSBC Bank Middle East staff members, Hussain Al Balooshi, Community Manager, and Haresh Sajnani, Projects Manager, volunteered their time as invigilators.

UAE GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS URGED TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE AND REDUCE ‘CARBON FOOTPRINT’

The ‘Heroes of the UAE’ campaign is urging government institutions to lead by example and demonstrate ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Over the course of 2010, the campaign will work closely with five UAE government institutions to implement simple energy and water conservation measures in their premises and demonstrate that environmental and economic savings can be complementary.
